What documents can I convert?
PodHive works with multiple file formats including PDF, DOCX, TXT, and PPTX—whether it's an academic paper, textbook chapter, technical report, or legal contract. We support all fields—from computer science and physics to biology, law, and history. If it's a document, we can turn it into a podcast.
How long does it take to generate a podcast?
Podcasts are generated depending on the length and complexity of the document. Quick summaries (5-10 min) are typically faster, while long-form deep dives (80-120 min) may take a few minutes. You'll get a notification when it's ready.
How does the Q&A feature work?
While listening, you can pause at any time and type a question. Our AI has full context of the document and can answer questions about methodology, clarify terminology, explain figures, or dive deeper into specific sections.
How is this different from text-to-speech?
Text-to-speech reads your file aloud, word for word. PodHive writes a two-host conversation from the document: one host explains, the other challenges a method or asks the question you would have asked on page 12. You also pick the depth — a 5-minute briefing or a 90-minute deep dive from the same file — and you can pause to ask questions that are answered from that document, not from generic web knowledge.
Does PodHive invent facts that are not in my document?
The episode is written from the file you uploaded. The Q&A feature uses that same document as context, so answers should point back to sections, methods, or figures in your text. If something is missing from the source, the honest answer is that it is not in the paper — not a guess from the open web.
Can I use PodHive offline?
We are working on Android and iOS apps which support offline listening. Q&A features require an active connection on all plans.
What languages are supported?
We currently support documents in Any Language, with podcasts generated in English, German, Italian, Russian or Spanish. We're working on expanding to support multiple languages and multilingual podcast generation. If your language is missing let us know!
Can I share podcasts with other Pro users?
Yes, pro users can share podcasts with other pro users. Research Teams subscribers get additional collaboration features including shared libraries, team playlists, and annotation tools. Note that listeners may need a PodHive account depending on your sharing settings.
